Looking for authentic Mexican food? Look no further than the ATL Airport District! The District is home to some of the most traditional, delicious Mexican restaurants and carnicerias in the area.

La Fiesta

La Fiesta has been serving College Park and surrounding areas for over 40 years. Their mission is simple: to provide high quality Mexican and Latin cuisine. Their chori-queso dip is made to order, chips and salsa are made fresh daily and they offer a full bar. Try one of their many margaritas: grapefruit, cucumber, or pineapple–and pair it with an order of their street tacos-muy sabroso! La Fiesta offers online ordering on their website for carry out, dining in and catering for your special events.

Don Chon

Looking for a hearty meal? Look no further than Don Chon. The Torta de Jamon–a Mexican, ham sandwich–is a crowd favorite. Also, check out the affordable lunch buffet available from 11 am to 5 pm. Feeling adventurous or ever wanted to try dishes like Mexican menudo or tacos de lengua? Don Chon has them! Located in Hapeville, this restaurant offers indoor dining, outdoor dining, take-out, and food delivery options.

Catalina

If no one has told you about Catalina, let us be the first. This hidden gem is located in the back of an unassuming grocery store just south of Hapeville on US 19-41. The restaurant is 100% Mexican and boasts that it is not “Tex-Mex.” Patrons cannot seem to get enough of the chorizo, so be sure to give that a try. You can’t beat the choices, pricing and taste of their tacos-the shells are made fresh to order right there. Feel free to shop while you wait for the food or order it to go.

Don Sige

Not to be confused with Don Chon, Don Sige is located on Main Street in College Park and has its own array of delectable delights. Keep in mind, Don Sige does to-go orders only and does not offer indoor dining. The service is quick and friendly. The street tacos are affordable and adored by patrons. Driving by this place without giving it a try? Taco ‘bout a mistake!

Carniceria El Ejido

Carniceria El Ejido is located in East Point and offers a variety of traditional Mexican dishes. Craving quesadillas, burritos, and more? This “tienda de comestibles” has it. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very authentic and located inside a store. Pop in to see what other delicious treats are inside.

El Rocio

In East Point, El Rocio’s food is as authentic as it is tasty. Patrons love how affordable the dishes are. The restaurant prides itself on good customer service and an atmosphere that feels 100% Mexican. Featuring a variety of dishes like tacos, fajitas, combination plates, and lunch specials, El Rocio is open for dine-in and take-out.

El Progreso

With locations in College Park, Jonesboro and on Cleveland Avenue, El Progreso has it all. The restaurant in College Park is part store, part butcher shop, and wholly delicious. The authentic tacos are served with cucumbers and radishes to give the tacos added crunch and color. While waiting for the tacos, feel free to check out the selection of meats, spices, and pastries that cannot be found at most grocery stores.

Check each restaurant’s website for hours, directions and offerings.
